Sterilization Procedure

Strict sterilization techniques help put your mind at ease. Our carefully monitored state of the art sterilization includes the use of Statim Autoclave. This is the same pressurized cleaning system used by hospitals for their instruments. Each operatory is carefully disinfected between patients. Our staff considers sterilization a top priority.

Dental Imaging

During your Complete Oral Evaluation, we can take a digital photograph of your smile and within a few days, show you how your smile could be improved. We can eliminate gaps, change color and shape of your teeth to create a beautiful smile that you have always desired.

Digital X-Rays

In our office, we are pleased to provide our clients with the most recent technology regarding dental x-rays. Digital x-rays save time for both the client and the staff by providing clear instant images on the monitors in each operatory.

Complete Oral Evaluation

This examination is a complete “physical” of your head and neck area that evaluates the health and function of the:

• Muscles associated with chewing
• Jaw bone and jaw joint
• Soft tissues of your mouth
• Lymph glands and nodes
• Teeth and previous dental work

Dental Laser

With the use of a laser our dentists and hygienists have been able to reshape gum tissue during cosmetic procedures, decontaminate gum disease sites and treat cold sores. With a laser, the use of scalpels and stitches has been minimized and most procedures are more comfortable.

TMD Treatment

TMD is short of Temporo Mandibular Disorder. It refers to a group of symptoms that originate with an imbalance in one’s bite and jaw joints.

To help clarify our view of TMD, we use the comparison of a door functioning in its’ frame. The lower jaw swings into the upper jaw like a door closing. If the door doesn’t fit the frame properly, closing it over and over again takes a lot of abnormal muscle force. The result is tired and painful tender muscles. This will eventually damage the door’s frame (worn teeth) and put so much stress on the hinges that they are not able to work properly. Left untreated, this situation can lead to other painful symptoms such as:

Headaches
Dizziness
Jaw joint pain
Ringing in your ears
Ear congestion
Chewing difficulties or sensitive teeth
Shoulder & neck pain
Tingling in your fingers
Clenching or grinding your teeth

Our TMD therapy (Orthotic) is designed to realign the door and the frame so that it closes perfectly with no strain on the frame and hinges (teeth, muscles, joints). This treatment helps find a functioning position for the bite, which will permanently correct the problem, rather than cover up the symptoms.

Tensing

Neuromuscular Dentistry goes beyond the teeth to focus on the position of the jaw in relation to the surrounding muscles and ligaments. A difference between the position where your teeth meet and where your muscles and ligaments are relaxed can lead to symptoms such as: headaches, tooth wear, joint pain and ringing in the ears to name a few. In our office a TENS unit is used to deliver painless stimulation to the jaw muscles to find the proper bite position. When treated to this position, symptomatic clients often find long lasting relief.
